Driving Day One

The entry before this one was Packing Day Two and the next one is Driving Day Two.

Yay! Days Inn has free WiFi! Finally got on the road around 3pm. Drove all the way to Missoula, MT by 1am. So that's right about 500 miles in 9 hours. I stopped for at least 15 minutes twice along the way and a large part of this leg involved a lot of mountain climbing. It will be interesting to see how much ground I can cover on my first full day of driving. I hope to be real close to the South Dakota/Iowa border by the end of the drive tomorrow. That should be the halfway point for the trip. The GPS system is working really, really good. However, I am extremely disappointed in the satellite radio. It hasn't worked the entire time. Nothing on the truck exterior is metal except the cab roof which has some pretty deep ridges in it. So I'm just thinking that I don't have a good enough antenna going. Anyway, I plan on sleeping in and getting back on the road around 10 or 11am.
