The entry before this one was Many Plates Spinning and the next one is Snuck Out of Town.
It's been a good gearhead week. First and foremost, the garage got wired!! I've got outlets and light galore.

Today, Dad and I did our first body off frame job. We pulled the '53 body off using an engine lift, 2 jacks, 4 wheel dollies, and LOTS of scrap wood. All of it at our remote storage location using hand tools. I'm pretty proud. The next step is to media blast the frame (you know anybody?) and get it ready to drop the fancy pants motor and tranny we've got for it. From there it will come to my shop for some bracket welding. Then the body will come to my shop for some sheet metal work. Then we'll stick the body back on and we'll be ready for paint and interior! My goal is to have it done in time for Dad to drive it to the Fall car show.

Speaking of car shows. I had a display at the other local show a couple of weekends ago. Long story short- the show was dead, I talked them into letting me display my car indoors, and I got to meet Gene Winfield. Here's some pics of the car someone emailed me...

So now the car shows are behind me, my '54 will begin the transformation from work-in-progress "rat rod" to full on 60's style lowrider. It mostly just needs a cool paint job and wheels to get the look I want.

I've got another video game project coming up very soon and that will probably cut into my wrench time. Fortunately, I'm no longer constrained to daylight hours for working in the shop. I'll sleep when I'm dead!
