Cruisin'

The entry before this one was Blast Off Customs: The Dot-Com Element and the next one is FairTax.

You would think with all my years on this planet that I would have faith that things always work out in the end. I truly believe it, I just need to learn to trust it. It turns out, my minor quandary has taken care of itself. The blasting business slowed way down. I think it started with the July 4th holiday and blended into the heat wave we've had. Which is plenty fine with me. I've actually pushed back some small jobs because it's just too dangerous to be out in that heat for hours at a time. (Surfing is a different matter, of course!). I think I'm also going to take this lull as an opportunity to bump my pricing up a little bit.

As a general rule, I avoid blogging about things going on with my home life and, specifically, relationships. I feel like it is information that is shared amongst a party of people and I shouldn't assume I can publish it. People can also take things in a different way than I intended and feelings can be hurt. I've broken this rule in the past and almost always regretted it later. But it's sufficed to say I've had some ups and downs the past few months. Hopefully there's no more downs for a while.

Even though I've been living in and paying for my home since I moved back to the beach, I technically didn't own it. My parents had to snap it up since I was still living in Seattle at the time. That will all change this afternoon after I sign the final papers at the closing. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but it does feel pretty good.
