Ups and Downs

The entry before this one was Playtime Is Over and the next one is For The Record....

In case I haven't been clear, the past 3 months have been... crazy.

Major personal and professional twists and turns are keeping me on my toes for sure. With every bright light a dark shadow seems to follow. But I'm happy overall and it's all good stuff in general. I just tend to over think things and I'm too hard on myself...all things I'm working on.

On the business side, I think I finally found a solution to my blasting business dilemma. A customer and friend of mine wants to buy the equipment. But I want him to try everything out before committing. Plus, I need him to come around to the idea he's buying a profitable business, not some used equipment. So he's going to run it for the remainder of the year and we're going to split everything 50/50. This is good, because it will generate some cash for my little company without my direct effort- a long term goal of mine. Ideally, we'll keep this situation in play well into 2008. The game project is entering crunch time now. So hopefully I can wrap up my other business so I can get "in the zone" on writing some code. Something I've had difficulty with lately.

On the personal side, well that's personal. ;o) Sufficed to say the light and shadow principle is an order of magnitude more intense when it comes to the opposite sex. Kinda' like on the Moon as opposed to Earth. I just need to relax- which is funny because everybody tells me how laid back I am. Again, working on it. But it makes me wonder how nerve wracking it is for "normal" people.

Other random stuff: I actually think I've become a damn good surfer in the past couple months. I went on a little documentary binge with my NetFlix and now I'm on a "movies-I'm-embarrassed-to-say-I-haven't-seen" theme. This first round included Network and Taxi Driver. I gotta say that Network was better for me. I'm also trying new things. I tried green tea for the first time tonight and I think I'm a tea guy now (quiet, Jenn). The vegetarian switch continues effortlessly. I just wonder how long it will be before my parents and Andre stopping thinking it's a phase I'm going through!

It's finally cooled off enough to get back to doing some serious wrenching in the garage. I'm a little behind from where I want to be, but I'm feeling a surge of ass kicking building up. Stay tuned.

So, like I said, it's all pretty good stuff. I think I've just been down the past day or so. Typing all this out keeps it in perspective and helps.

Didn't you know? This blog is for me, I just let you guys read it! Ha ha!
