Mine, from a Marrickville store. Posting the process rather than the outrage, because the process is the useful bit.
What I did:
- Photographed it immediately, before anyone touched it
- Kept the receipt
- Reported it to the store that night, and got a name for the report — not a person's name, a reference
- Reported it to the local council, who are the ones who actually inspect food premises
That last one is the step people skip. A refund and a coupon closes it for the store. The council is who makes it matter beyond your one meal.
Outcome was a refund and an apology, which is less than I wanted and more than most people get. Marking this partial rather than won, because the honest answer is I don't know what happened after the council got it.
