Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
The short version
screwtheman.com is a consumer rights platform operated by the owner of an ABN based in New South Wales, Australia. We help ordinary people understand their rights, generate formal dispute letters based on publicly available consumer rights law, track institutional response deadlines, and prepare escalation complaints you can choose to lodge with the relevant regulator or ombudsman. By using this platform, you agree to these terms.
We serve users in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. When you start a dispute you tell us which country's law applies, and the letter is generated against that country's law and escalation pathways. The platform is operated from Australia regardless of which country's law your dispute concerns, and these terms are governed by Australian law as set out below.
We are not a law firm
Nothing on screwtheman.com is legal advice. We are not lawyers. The letters and information generated by this platform are based on publicly available consumer rights law in the country you select — for Australia, that includes the Australian Consumer Law, the Insurance Contracts Act 1984, the Banking Code of Practice and related instruments; for the United States, state implied-warranty and unfair-and-deceptive-practices law together with federal statutes such as the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act; for the United Kingdom, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related instruments. They are not reviewed by a qualified legal practitioner before delivery to you.
United States users should note in particular that there is no federal general consumer guarantee in the US, that consumer protection there is substantially a matter of state law and therefore varies by state, and that some information on this platform has not been independently verified against the current statute in your state.
For complex legal matters, disputes involving significant sums, or situations where you are unsure of your position, you should consult a qualified lawyer in your own country — a licensed attorney in your state if you are in the United States, or a qualified solicitor if you are in Australia or the United Kingdom. Nothing we generate creates a solicitor-client or attorney-client relationship between you and screwtheman.com.
What our platform does
screwtheman.com uses artificial intelligence to analyse the situation you describe and generate a formal dispute letter citing the law of the country you select. The letter is generated automatically, it is not reviewed, edited, or approved by a human before you receive it. You are responsible for reviewing the letter before sending it and for determining whether it accurately reflects your situation. After you unlock a letter, we also track the institution's expected response deadline, send you reminder emails as that deadline approaches or passes, and prepare a pre-filled escalation complaint to the relevant regulator or ombudsman. We do not lodge complaints on your behalf: you review any escalation and submit it yourself. You can stop these reminders at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
We make no guarantee that any letter generated by this platform will produce a particular outcome. Results depend on the facts of your individual situation, the institution's response, and factors entirely outside our control.
Cost
Letters generated through this platform are free. We do not charge for advice or for dispute letters.
Your information
When you use screwtheman.com, you provide us with details about your dispute, which may include personal, financial, and sensitive information. We store this information securely and use it only to generate your letter and improve our platform. We do not sell your individual data to third parties.
We may use anonymised, aggregated data, with no individually identifying information, for research, product improvement, and reporting purposes. This aggregate data may be shared with third parties in anonymised form only.
Your responsibilities
You agree to use screwtheman.com only for lawful purposes. You must not provide false or misleading information when describing your dispute. You must not use this platform to generate letters for situations you know to be fraudulent or dishonest. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and the consequences of sending any letter generated by this platform.
Our content and intellectual property
The screwtheman.com platform, brand, and all content we create is owned by the owner of an ABN in NSW. The letter generated for you based on your specific dispute details belongs to you. You may not reproduce, resell, or redistribute our platform or its outputs for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, the owner of screwtheman.com is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this platform, including any outcome (or lack of outcome) resulting from a letter generated here. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by this limitation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Content posted by members
Parts of this platform let members write about their own disputes, including disputes with named companies. Anything a member posts is that member’s own account of what happened to them. It is not our statement, we do not verify it before it appears, and it should not be read as a finding by us about any company.
Members must not post content that identifies an individual employee, gives legal advice to other members, or reveals personal information. The full rules are published and members agree to them before posting.
We may remove, hide or restrict access to member content at any time, with or without notice, where it breaches those rules or where we receive a complaint about it. We enforce our published rules. We do not decide whether a member’s account of their own dispute is true.
Complaints about published content
If you are named in, or referred to by, anything published on this platform, you can complain about it at screwtheman.com/complaint. You do not need an account, and you do not need to pay anything. The form asks for the address of the content, what was said, why you say it is false or defamatory, and how to contact you.
Content complained of through that form is restricted immediately, before anyone reviews it. That is automatic and it is not an admission that the complaint is correct. We will then review it and either keep it restricted or restore it.
Legal notices
All complaints, legal notices and correspondence about content must be directed to the entity that operates this platform, using the complaints form above or the contact address at the bottom of this page.
Individual employees, moderators, contractors and agents are not authorised to accept service of legal process on behalf of the operator, and are not personally responsible for content posted by members. Correspondence from us comes from role addresses, not from named individuals.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
