How we verify wins
The word “verified” should mean something specific. Here is exactly what it means here, including where it stops.
What we check before it appears
Nothing. A win goes up the moment it is submitted, before a human has looked at it. There is no approval queue standing between someone typing an amount and you reading it.
That is a deliberate trade. Making people wait on us to approve their win means wins get lost when we are slow, and a board that lags reality is worth less than one that occasionally carries something wrong. The automated checks that do run are narrow: spam traps, a limit on how many wins one connection can post, and a filter on handles. None of them check whether the money is real.
What is self-reported
All of it. The amount, the company, the type of dispute and the story are entered by the person who says they won, and we do not see their bank account, their letters or their settlement.
We review the board after the fact rather than before, and if a figure looks outlandish we will ask for something backing it up — a letter, an email, a statement line — and take it down if nothing comes. Treat the board as what people say happened to them, because that is exactly what it is.
What happens to entries that don’t hold up
They come down. If a win cannot be backed up when we ask, or it names someone it should not, or it is plainly invented, we remove it — no debate about it.
